Prediction and Evaluation of Waterjet Pump Performance under Nonuniform Inflow Using Parallel Compressor Theory

چکیده

Parallel compressor theory (PCT) is commonly used to estimate effects of inlet distortion on performance. As well as compressor, the actual inflow pump also nonuniform and unfavorable for performances. Nowadays, insufficient understanding performance restricts its development. Therefore, this paper applies PCT predict external characteristics evaluate internal flow instability waterjet under inflow. According features inflow, traditional modified makes sub-divided into two circumferential tubes owning same performances but with different velocity (representing inflow). Above all, numerical simulation has been conducted validated applicability accuracy in head prediction since area-weighted sum each tube (i.e., theoretical head) highly consistent simulated result. Moreover, based identifications when which occurs stall, evaluates four stall behaviors pump: partial deep pre-stall full stall.
